After getting in ears I started to use the Redbox for my in ears mix. The idea was it would always be the same and not effected by mic placement or standing on the mic when on a tiny stage. After a couple of months of gigging with this sound in my head I thought, I wonder how it will record. Didn’t come out quite how I would expect but it was a one take wonder so there is no post production. Meaning what you hear is what I have in my ears every gig. A long winded comparison between a Shure Sm57 microphone and a Redbox 5 by Hughes and Kettner. I play through a US Strat and PRS McCarty into a Mesa Rectoverb. Take note of the extra attack that the Redbox provides comparing to the Sm 57 which has more warmth. I personally feel that the Redbox does pretty well untill you crank the gain up
